Ten Keys to Success

There are many keys to success.

The Keys to Success - Never Quit
One very important key to success is to
be persistent and Never give up!

Never quit!

That reminds me of a story told in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill called, “3 Feet From the Gold”

Hill starts the story with this insightful comment: “One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.”

We all do that sometime in our lives…

#1 A Burning Desire: The uncle of R.U. Darby caught the Gold Rush fever back in the mid 1800’s…yes, the famous California Gold Rush. They set out west to DIG AND GROW RICH. (Instead of “THINK AND GROW RICH!)

Hill says, “He had never heard that more gold has been mined from the brains of men than has ever been taken from the earth.”

After a lot of hard work with picks and shovels, after a few weeks they discovered that shining ore. It would take more money to buy the machinery needed to bring it up to the surface so they hid their find and went back home to talk with family and a few neighbors to raise the money needed.

#2 They didn’t have the money; they had BELIEF: They didn’t have the money. They found a way to get it. What did it take to get the money? They struck GOLD. Their belief level was HIGH. They were able to convey their belief with conviction to others, to persuade them and influence them enough to put in the money needed to make this work.

#3 It took hard work. Once they had the machinery they needed, they went back to stake their claim and start bringing it up. When they shipped the first load to the smelter they found out that they had one of the richest mines in Colorado! Imagine the feeling!

#4 It took COMPLETE FOCUS … focusing on ONE thing until the job was done!

#5 It took Persistence: Back to work they went! They began drilling with hopes high. But then something happened! The vein of gold ore suddenly disappeared! They tried drilling more, desperately trying to pick up the vein again—all to no avail.

Finally, they decided to QUIT.

#6 Never Quit! Never ever Give Up!

They sold the machinery to a junk man for a few hundred dollars, and went back home.

Do you know what that smart junk man did? He hired an expert, a mining engineer, who found out that R.U. Darby and his uncle were not familiar with Fault Lines… and the vein of ore was found again . . .

JUST THREE FEET FROM WHERE THE DARBY’S HAD STOPPED DRILLING!

Yes! Just Three Feet From the GOLD!

The Junk man became a millionaire because he knew enough to seek an expert before giving up.

#7. Seek Expert Advice:

New people building a business on the internet don’t have the experience or the success story built yet. You can leverage off of OTHER PEOPLE’S success until you have your own success story to tell. It takes time to build up credibility. As you do, take screen shots of your victories and document them.

#8 No doesn’t necessarily mean no!

Long afterward, Mr. Darby recouped his loss many times over, when he made
the discovery that DESIRE can be transmuted into gold.

Remembering that he lost a huge fortune, because he STOPPED three feet
from gold, Darby said to himself,

“I stopped three feet from gold, but I will never
stop because men say ‘no’ when I ask them to buy insurance.”

Hill says:
“Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to QUIT. That is exactly what the majority of men do.

More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known, told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.

Failure is a trickster with a keen sense of irony and cunning. It takes great delight in tripping one when success is almost within reach.”

SO DON’T EVER QUIT!

These are some of the most important keys to success.

Here’s one more Key to success:

#9 Learn from life’s experiences, both your successes and your failures.
You will profit by experiences, when you analyze them, and find the lesson they teach.

The results? This is one of my favorite quotes from “Think and Grow Rich”:

“When riches begin to come, they come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years.”

10. Riches begin with a state of mind and definiteness of purpose.

When you begin to THINK AND GROW RICH, you will observe that riches begin with a state of mind, with definiteness of purpose, with little or no hard work. You, and every other person, ought to be interested in knowing how to acquire that state of mind which will attract riches.
